FAQ
Does Parity replace the caseworker?
No. It augments your work — it gathers facts so you arrive prepared and the client doesn't have to retell their story. You still verify the facts, exercise judgement, and advise. The record reflects the client's account, not a legal analysis.
Can I export to Word?
No. Parity exports to PDF or Excel only. See Export & handoff.
Who can see my clinic's cases?
Only your clinic. Each clinic is a separate tenant and the isolation is enforced at the database. See Data, privacy & safeguarding.
What if the assistant picks the wrong domain?
Staff can correct it. Open the case and change the Domain selector — see Working a case.
Does the client see internal notes?
No. Internal notes are staff-only. The client sees only their own intake conversation and the record they approved.
Can a client upload documents — and does the assistant read them?
Yes. Clients can attach documents during intake (PDF, images, Word, or text; up to 10 MB each). But the assistant sees only the file name, not the contents — it does not read the files. See Working a case and What clients see.
Can a client have more than one case?
Yes. A client can have several separate cases at once. Each is isolated, and the assistant only sees the current conversation — never the client's other cases. See What clients see.
Is anything Parity produces legal advice?
No. Parity gathers facts and names a broad domain. It does not assess merits, recommend strategy, or explain the law. See What Parity is not.
What happens if a client is in danger during intake?
The assistant surfaces 999 (or 101 for non-emergency police) before continuing.
Is there an ActionStep integration?
Not for the pilot. Handoff to ActionStep is manual: export the case and attach it, or upload it directly from a laptop running ActionStep.
Are there email notifications?
No. Parity does not send emails for case events — a new case arriving, a status change, or an assignment. Check the dashboard for case activity. The only emails Parity sends are from the authentication system — sign-in magic links for clients and staff, and staff invitation emails — not case notifications.
Is client data used to train AI models?
No. All AI processing runs inside Parity's own Google Cloud environment (Vertex AI), using models from Google and Anthropic on platform terms under which the model providers may not retain the data or use it for training. See Data, privacy & safeguarding.
Does a client have to answer every question?
No. A client who cannot — or would rather not — answer something can say so, and the assistant moves on. Using Parity at all is also the client's choice. See What clients see.
How long does intake take?
It depends on your clinic's conversation depth setting — roughly 5 to 20 exchanges, trading the client's time against how detailed the record is. See Assistant settings.
